Green Tips for Green Mamas... Sunscreen

With summer just around the corner it's time to start thinking about how to protect ourselves and our loved ones from sun exposure and worst of all a sunburn. I've always struggled with finding a sunscreen that does not cause irritation of my skin. I have very sensitive skin as does my 7 1/2 month old daughter so as we started spending more and more time outside I knew that I had to find a solution. A sunscreen that didn't give her a rash but also one that I was comfortable with the ingredients. After much research I feel confident in my decision, this is now the only sunscreen for my household. This sunscreen has no synthetic chemicals and the packaging is made from recycled and sustainable materials and is phthalate and BpA free. I love knowing that not only am I protecting my families skin from the sun but I'm also using a safe product.

  1. Awesome! Thanks so much...I was just starting to think about this since the weather is getting warmer here. Our son has sensitive skin too and used to have severe Eczema until we began giving him Belly Boost children's chewable probiotics. They have helped dramatically, but we still have to be so careful about what we use. I may get this - what do you use for bug spray too since you have sensitive skin? I would love to know :)

  2. smilinggreenmom: I would love to give you a suggestion for bug spray but seeing that I live in an area that we never need bug spray it's not something I've needed to research. But I'm sure Mama Lia may have a suggestion. I'll see what she has to offer. As for Eczema I do have a great recommendation, Episencial also carries an Eczema lotion that is amazing.
